How I Heard About the Job:

While I was working as a head lifeguard at my local pool, my older brother, Sebastian, kept nudging me to get a new job that would improve my communication skills as I was extremely shy and introverted at the time. He mentioned to me that all of life was sales and that as a doctor in the future I would really benefit from gaining the powerful soft skills now, so I went in for an interview!

How Have You Excelled:

I excelled by pouring my passion and competitive energy from my swimming career of 10 years into this job. I came in with an open mind, was incredibly coachable, and I was always learning from those that knew more than me. I sold $10,000 work of product in my first 10 days on the job without any sales experience and I started to enjoy the job a lot more after I saw my first paycheck.

I’ve been able to pay off my tuition at UIUC, and stack my resume. Before graduating in the May of 2020, I had 10+ job offers lined up because of the soft skills that I developed here.

What Do You Love About This Job:

I love the fact that as a new representative, I was able to set my own schedule. If I wanted to go to the beach or hang out with friends, that was not ever an issue. I did not work a ton during my semesters at UIUC because I wanted to focus strictly on school. I also loved the fact that I was able to be paid what I was worth, not the time that I put in. I hated that at other jobs, I worked harder than everyone else, but got paid the same exact paycheck.

Why I’m still here after 7 years now is because of the people that I work with and the incredible impact that I am able to make on the students in our community here in Oak Brook.

How I Heard About the Job:

I was looking for work over the summer of 2020 and all of a sudden I saw two girls from the class below me at school post about part-time work on Snapchat, I slid up and asked some questions, and applied! Best decision I could’ve made - my life would be really different if I didn’t check out Snapchat that day :)

How Have You Excelled:

Well in the business, I’ve really built up my relationship-building skills, small talk skills, and my confidence in general. I’ve been able to pay off my first two semesters of college which is really important to me because I’m paying for half of my tuition in hopes of helping my parents with my other siblings and their education.

Outside of the business, my time management and productivity have skyrocketed, helping with my GPA and the depth and quality of my relationships.

What Do You Love About This Job:

I love being able to meet such a wide variety of people both from our office and that I do presentations for! I’ve become really good friends with people in our office, which is really easy given it feels like an in-person office even over Zoom. I also love the flexibility and being able to maintain my relationships and have loads of fun while still being able to work however much I want. And then finally, I have really boosted my resumé with this position. It’ll be really incredible to put that I helped manage the #1 office in the company in our category :)

I love that this job has helped me connect with so many different types of people and develop friendships here as well. WALTER PAYTON COLLEGE PREP

CALVIN UNIVERSITY

SECONDARY EDUCATION 👨🏼‍🏫

How I Heard About the Job:

I was reached out to through Instagram. At first, I was going to say no. But I had a thought, “ what if this job is the start of a whole new thing?” So I applied, came in for an interview, was offered the job and here I am.

How Have You Excelled:

At first, I thought that selling would be difficult, but by the end of my first two weeks, I knew I could do pretty well here! The training manual they gave us in training had everything I needed to successfully do the job.

What Do You Love About This Job:

I love 2 things. First, I love how easy it is to make money here. Making $200+ in a few hours at times feels slightly crazy. But when it does happen it feels pretty rewarding.

The second thing is the flexibility that the job provides. I have not heard of another job where you are as in control of your time as here. I love that I can work when and where I want to.

JAYLIN HOLMES

LINCOLN PARK ASSISTANT MANAGER

UIC COLLEGE PREP

HOWARD UNIVERSITY

CIVIL ENGINEERING 👷🏾‍♂️🌉

How I Heard About the Job:

Jaylin Holmes was personally recommended by his close friend, Clifton Jackson, who he played 4 years of basketball with in high school on the west side of Chicago. Both were captains of the boy's varsity basketball team as Jaylin was the starting shooting guard and Clifton was the starting point guard.

How Have You Excelled:

Mr. Holmes is someone who has shown great leadership, passion, and perseverance. As a beginner sales rep, he didn't have the strongest fast start. He experienced multiple challenges in his first couple of months and had low performance. Yet, he continued to ask questions, attend events and meetings, and improve his overall sales. Mr. Holmes has a strong passion for helping others around him, inspiring them to become the best version of themselves.

What Do You Love About This Job:

One of the biggest things that I love about this job is that you learn so many life lessons and advice that will equip you to become your own CEO. The information you learn from this job will cost you thousands of dollars somewhere else. The job is very flexible and it pays really well. Our staff will teach you an endless amount of skills that will take your life to the next level. I love that we are able to work together as a team and grow together as leaders. Most importantly, I love that I can inspire other young adults to be successful in whatever they chose to do in life.
